Dead monologue of the archivist artist

A conversation with James Charlton

For obvious reasons i will not include the name of the artist discussed

GMS : … The guy who i saw talk tonight was the epitome of what we were discussing. He spoke so much and explained everything away in such detail there was nothing left. He completely killed all the objects he was discussing.

JC : Dead objects – another environmental art disaster. Sounds like Timothy Morton’s hyper objects.

GMS : Absolutely dead. No personal connection or genuine discovery in action at all. Dead process. Quoting Deleuse and Derrida whilst talking about believing in magic and objects having their own voices but not allowing them to take part in the conversation. Dead monologue of the archivist artist.
